| About More Than Ink More Than Ink came about accidentally. A few months ago we were sitting in the office of a friend discussing our ministry and current studies as he recorded our conversation for the local Christian radio station he manages. When we finished, he said “You two should consider doing a radio show!” In truth, he’d mentioned this a number of times before, but we never gave it serious thought. We were busy, full-up, one might even say. Then the COVID-19 pandemic happened. We suddenly found ourselves busier than ever in a strange new way, exploring ministry online from a different perspective Conducting Bible studies and fellowship groups via Zoom. Live-streaming Sunday worship from an empty building. In this season, the radio thing didn’t seem so crazy anymore, and the idea didn’t go away. Polling a few people, we received unexpectedly enthusiastic encouragement. So here we are. We’d love to hear from you. Welcome to the conversation as we explore the living Word of God together.
Jim and Dorothy Catlin met in a high-school drama class when they were cast as husband in wife in a play. Having now celebrated nearly 44 years of marriage, they continue to rejoice in God’s grace and His sense of humor. They have four adult children and two deeply adored grandsons. Jim has been in full time ministry since 1995, when the Lord called him out of a 20-year career doing research in the electronics industry. He now serves as pastor/teacher to a small non-denominational church in northern Utah, U.S. with an emphasis on expository teaching. He also currently leads a regional pastor's group and has served 15 years as a nationwide youth speaker. For nearly a decade he has been a co-producer of videos that equip Christians to minister in the Mormon community and is currently producing two weekly internet video podcasts addressing Mormon and polygamist issues. For relaxation he still designs transistor circuits as a hobby. He is a student of the Word, teacher, speaker, musician, scientist, motorcyclist, and DIY'er. Dorothy is passionate about studying and teaching the Word of God, and helping women integrate it into their hearts, minds, and lives. Having been involved in a variety of ministries over the past 40 years, she currently teaches community-wide Bible studies for women, speaks for women’s retreats, and leads a small worship team. For the past two years she has been volunteering with Thrive Ministry, and has a growing interest in encouraging those who serve the Lord in far-away places. Dorothy is a student of the Word, a musician, seamstress and gardener. Most days she’d rather be outside than inside, and finds tending her garden to be a deep source of soul-nourishment.
